I just went back bedside after being an ARNP for 7 years. I am trying to revisit all the ICU topics. Thank you for all your help and videos. They explain things so easily. I did wonder since this video is 3 years old, is calcium citrate still being used? it seems like such a great option, but being back only 6 months, I don't see it in many order sets anymore. Just wondering if research changed or its just the doctors at my hospital. Thank you so much!

My father was hospitalized due to a brain intracerebral hemorrhage in pons and medulla on May 14, 2024. He was transferred to the ICU and put on a ventilator just three hours later. Despite his critical condition, he miraculously regained consciousness on May 17, 2024. I was by his side and witnessed him responding to my requests to move his hand and leg. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away on May 21, 2024. The doctors attributed his decline to his pre-existing kidney disease, which made it challenging to administer all necessary medications, as his creatinine level had risen to 4.1."

Lol, okay! 9/27/2021, a DRUNKEN/DRUG INDUCED 3 story dive in the goal of a suicide attempt. LOL, all I gotta say is if you know a dude in his 20s (I'm 33 now, was just turning 30 a few months prior) that's a happy go lucky and hyper visible and vocal acceptant drunk that's a loner and seems 'okay' with it, don't be scared to check in on their mentality!
